The entrepreneurial genius will use his proximity to Trump to gain advantages – also with a view to his long-term rival. Musk competes directly with Bezos in some areas: for example in the development of artificial intelligence and autonomous driving and in space travel. Especially in the latter case, proximity to the government can be a big advantage because government contracts are extremely important for companies.
Musk certainly has an advantage here at the moment. His company SpaceX is NASA’s most important partner. Bezos’ company Blue Origin, on the other hand, plays a much smaller role. But the cards are being reshuffled. NASA has commissioned both companies to develop a transporter for a future lunar base. There they can live out their male feud again.
