MIAMI.- Elle Fanning conducted particular research to prepare for his role in the new series Margo’s Got Money Troubles. During the project’s premiere at the SXSW Film and TV Festival, the actress revealed that he created an account OnlyFans to get into the skin of Margot Millet’s character.

“Obviously, I’m an Instagram and TikTok user. I was able to explore those platforms (…) Also, we had to delve a little into OnlyFans. In fact, we created an account for the writers’ room — and for me — so that I could see how the website works,” she explained to People.

Margo’s Got Money Troublesbased on the best-selling 2024 novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe, follows Margo as she faces financial difficulties after dropping out of college to raise her newborn baby.

The aspiring writer turns to her mother, Shaynne Millet (Michelle Pfeiffer), a former Hooters waitress, and her father, Jinx Millet (Nick Offerman), a former professional wrestler, for support.

The eight-episode series AppleTV was created by Pfeiffer’s husband, David E. Kelley, and also stars Nicole Kidman.

Eva Anderson, who serves as showrunner of the series with Kelley, also mentioned having turned to OnlyFans to carry out research work during his intervention in a panel after the premiere screening.

“There was a lot of time spent exploring OnlyFans with the writers, but we all gave each other consent before doing it. We were very responsible and just tried to gather as much information as possible before we started,” he said.
