Donald Trump’s niece: “Kamala has my vote”

Mary L. Trump, Donald Trump’s niece, repeatedly attacks her uncle publicly. Now she has made her support for Kamala Harris public.

The Trump clan actually acts as a unit. But there is one family member who takes a different course: Mary L. Trump, Donald Trump’s niece.

The psychologist has not only written a book about psychological abuse and intrigue within the family, but has now also publicly declared that she will vote for Kamala Harris in the presidential election.

Against Donald Trump

Mary L. Trump is well known to the American public: for a long time now, she has established the image of herself as a renegade who stands up against male violence. She repeatedly defends herself against Donald Trump’s dominance in the family.

She announced her voting decision on Tuesday on the platform X (formerly Twitter). Her message: “I want to make one thing perfectly clear: Trump for Harris 2024 #KamalaHasMyVote”. Translated, this means: “I want to make one thing perfectly clear: Trump is for Harris 2024, #KamalaHasMyVote (My vote is for Kamala).”

Trump family tree

Mary L. Trump is the granddaughter of Fred Trump, who founded the Trump dynasty in the first half of the 20th century. He had five children with Mary Anne MacLeod: Maryanne, Fred Jr., Elizabeth, Donald and Robert. Fred Jr. is the father of Mary L. Trump.

The eldest son of real estate entrepreneur Fred Trump Sr. fell out of favor with his father when he decided to become a pilot. The result: his younger brother Donald inherited the family business.

Fred Jr. then became addicted to alcohol and died in 1981. Donald Trump said of his older brother: “Every day he would lecture me: ‘Look at the mess I’m in. If I ever catch you smoking, you’ll be sorry to drink a single glass of liquor because you like it too much.’ … Freddy did a good job.”

Family feud

After the death of the family founder, Fred Sr., an inheritance dispute broke out between his children and grandchildren, with Mary L. losing and, in her opinion, being cheated out of $20 million.

Her 2020 book about her uncle Donald and the Trump family, “Too Much and Never Enough,” sold nearly a million copies on its day of publication. A second book, “The Reckoning,” followed in 2021.

In September 2020, Mary Trump sued her uncle Donald, her aunt Maryanne, and the estate of her late uncle Robert, claiming they defrauded her of millions of dollars from her grandfather Fred Trump’s real estate portfolio. In November 2022, the lawsuit was dismissed.

In September 2021, Donald Trump sued Mary for at least $100 million for providing financial documents to The New York Times, which used them as a source for a 2018 exposé about his wealth and family finances.
