Donald Trump assassination attempt: "July 13th was a miracle"says Melania Trump

Melania Trump speaks out for the first time in two years. Instead of campaign phrases, she told how she experienced the shooting of her husband, Donald Trump.

“I ran to the TV and rewound it. And I watched it. I was only a few minutes behind. Nobody really knew yet. When you see him on the floor, you don’t know what really happened.” With these words, Melania Trump describes how she experienced the assassination attempt on her husband. “If you really think about it, July 13th was a miracle,” said Trump in an interview with US broadcaster Fox News.

Melania Trump upset about FBI raid

The Secret Service officers did a “fantastic job,” said the former first lady in her first interview in two years. On July 13, an attacker shot Donald Trump at a campaign rally in the small town of Butler, Pennsylvania.

The 78-year-old Republican Party presidential candidate was slightly injured in the ear and the shooter was shot by the Secret Service. After the incident, there was massive criticism of the service responsible for the security of presidents and ex-presidents.

The former first lady expressed her anger at the FBI’s search of Trump’s 2022 property in Mar-a-Lago in Florida. “That made me angry, yes. An invasion of privacy. And the way it was done,” said Melania Trump. “Some person – I don’t even know who or how many people – went through my things,” she added. Nobody should have to put up with something like that.

The FBI seized secret government documents during the raid. Her husband was later charged with unlawfully storing them on his private property.

She is staying out of Donald Trump’s election campaign

Donald Trump’s wife is currently promoting her memoir; The 256-page book is scheduled to come onto the market on October 8th under the title “Melania”.

The ex-model largely stays out of her husband’s election campaign. In doing so, she goes against the customs in US politics, where candidates’ spouses usually take an active part in the campaign.

The obvious distance between Melania and Donald Trump has fueled speculation about their relationship for years. In a recent interview on Fox News, the ex-president tried to dispel rumors. “I believe she loves her husband,” he said of his wife and himself. “This is probably the biggest surprise to a lot of people, but she loves her husband.”
