Dolphins star responds to criticism over his motivation

It’s easy to conclude that Odell Beckham Jr.’s internship with the Miami Dolphins has been far from what was expected so far. The renowned player, who has not been able to play his first match with the club, has been the target of multiple criticisms from fans and the press in recent weeks, some claiming that there is a lack of motivation on his part.

Beckham Jr. took to social media on Thursday to respond to some accusations that he had no motivation to come off the list of players physically unable to compete and practice with the team.

One critic suggested online that Beckham Jr. was taking the same route as Will Fuller, who received a $10 million contract from Miami and recorded just four catches for 26 yards in 2021.

That was the trigger for the current Dolphins player, who said his critics were “posting crap to get clicks.”

Beckham Jr. also challenged them to “find the person who wants to work from seven in the morning to seven at night so they can’t do what they love. Please make some sense of that. Get the information right. Mind your own business,” he added.

Weighty resume

The 31-year-old New Orleans native played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and has also played for the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams.

Beckham Jr. arrived with much fanfare to the Dolphins, thanks to an NFL resume that includes three Pro Bowl invitations and a Super Bowl ring, among other achievements.

The South Florida team will once again look to put an end to its long title drought next season.
