Dolphins player assures that “I will undoubtedly return to the top of my condition”

Hope is the last thing that is lost and the linebacker of the Miami DolphinsJaelan Phillips is confident that he will be recovered by the start of the team’s next camp, after suffering an injury to one of his knees at the end of last year that put an end to his campaign.

Phillips, who suffered a partial ligament tear on September 30 in a game against the Tennessee Titans, was also unable to finish the previous contest due to an Achilles tendon injury.

“Everything has been going for the best,” the player told reporters on Monday, in his first talk with the media after the physical mishap. “It’s been a smooth process since the surgery, honestly. I think I’m about 12 weeks in. I’ve been getting my quad strength back, but everything is on track,” he added.

Recovery for these types of injuries typically takes about nine months and Phillips expressed optimism regarding the 2025 campaign, confirming that he hopes to be ready for camp by the end of July.

The talented player was excited to be able to return to the field and, in particular, to share with veteran Bradley Chubb, who is also recovering from a knee injury that forced him to miss the entire 2024 harvest.

“I can’t wait. I was really looking forward to getting back on the field with him this year, but obviously it didn’t work out that way. Being able to come back, being on the field with him, will make our forward seven solid, as it always is. “I think we have immense potential,” he said.

No turning back

Phillips’ right knee was injured when he collided with safety Jordan Poyer’s helmet. Although he returned to the game briefly, the linebacker assured that this decision did not have an impact on the injury or the need to undergo surgery.

“The damage was already done, but without a doubt I will return to the top of my condition,” he said.
