Dolphins fire Odell Beckham Jr.

MIAMI.- The Dolphins They released the wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this Friday, ending the veteran’s agreement with the team four weeks before the end of the regular season.

Beckam signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins in May to be part of the team’s passing attack. He was unsuccessful, as the 32-year-old recorded just nine receptions on 18 attempts for 55 yards in nine games.

After signing in May, Beckham began the 2024 season on the physically unable to play list and did not make his Dolphins debut until Week 5.

Beckham had a one-yard catch on Sunday against the New York Jets in what would be his final appearance with the team.

However, he did not show up for practice this week and sources confirmed to ESPN.com that the agreement to be released was mutual.

Looking for opportunities in other areas of the league, Beckham will be placed on waivers until Monday and will become a free agent if unclaimed.

Miami has won four of its last five games entering its Week 15 game against the Houston Texans, but, with a 6-7 record, they will likely need outside help to reach a third consecutive postseason.
