Despite the cuts in diversity: Trump takes part in the celebration of Black History Month

Donald Trump took part in an event for Black History Month despite his increased procedure against US diversity programs. “Welcome to the White House, we proudly celebrate Black History Month,” said the US President on Thursday alongside golf superstar Tiger Woods in front of cheering, mostly black guests with a view of the celebrations traditionally committed in February. He also thanked the black voters for their support in the presidential election.

He had “received more voices from black Americans than any Republican President before,” said Trump at the event. When he spoke about the possibility of running for a third term – which is denied to him, however, after the US constitution – many of the guests chanted the slogan: “Four more years.”

In the presidential election in November, the right -wing populist had increased in addition to winning from many other groups of voters. However, the government recently made numerous cuts in programs for promoting diversity, equality and inclusion – abbreviated in English as a DEI – that have been demonized in the past of Trump as discrimination against white people.

In the Pentagon, for example, in accordance with a guideline by the new US defense minister Pete Hegseth, there should be no funds for special months that are celebrated by people of different ethnic origin and various social groups.

Among other things, events such as the “Black History Month”, which celebrates the history of the African Americans, were mentioned. In addition, there should be no more funds for the “Women’s History Month”, the “Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month” and the “National Hispanic Heritage Month”.
