PARIS.- The British designer Sarah Burton presented this Thursday in Paris his first men’s collection for Givenchy, mixing his mastery of tailoring and references from the prestigious French house, without forgetting the actor Timothée Chalamet, who has worn several of his creations.
Although the stylist had already made men’s pieces for Givenchy Previously, this was the first official presentation, within the framework of the Fashion Week from Paris.
This first wardrobe, presented at the headquarters of the French house in the opulent 8th district of the capital, was divided into three spaces: one focused on tailoring pieces, another more sportswear and the third seemed haute couture.
Proposal
Burton proposes impeccably cut double-breasted suits with wide-leg pants, elegant shirts with removable collars, bombers and coats with delicate floral embroidery or even perfect ones with flannel appliqués combined with denim looks.
One of the sets includes a pendant with three little characters. One of them – with a white coat and glasses in his pocket – remembers the creator of the brand, Hubert de Givenchy.
The more side sportswear comes with a series of tracksuits, or sports divers, entirely in leather, in intense colors such as blue or fuchsia. Indeed, the French-American actor Timothée Chalamet has worn these outfits on several occasions, whether in red, black or yellow.
A white double-breasted suit, also visible at the Paris presentation, is another of the pieces that Chalamet has worn at the last Oscars ceremony.
Burton, who was appointed to Givenchy two years ago, spent 25 years at the English brand Alexander McQueen, 13 of them as artistic director. She is especially known for having designed Kate Middleton’s wedding dress in 2011.
