David Alaba says goodbye to Real Madrid after five seasons full of titles

Real Madrid CF officially announced the departure of David Alaba at the end of this season, ending a period marked by titles, leadership and historic moments at the white club.

The Austrian defender played 131 games over five seasons with the Madrid shirt and won 11 titles: two Champions Leagues, two Club World Cups, two European Super Cups, two Leagues, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.

In the official statement, the club president, Florentino Pérez, highlighted the player’s dedication and professionalism, in addition to remembering the iconic image of Alaba celebrating the Fourteenth European Cup, a photograph that remained engraved in the recent history of Real Madrid fans.

The club also confirmed that the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu stadium will pay tribute to the footballer this Saturday, during the team’s last league match of the season.

Alaba’s departure marks the closing of an important stage for the merengue team, where the defender established himself as a key piece both in defense and within the locker room.
