Daniil Medvedev fined in the US Open for a rage burst

Chair Judge Greg Allensworth ordered to withdraw the photographer and decided to repeat the first serve, which unleashed the fury of Medvedev. The Russian faced the referee, insulted the officer and lit the public, who responded with boos and shouts of “Second Serve!” The interruption lasted for more than six minutes.

A chaotic game that ended in defeat

Despite the chaos, Medvedev managed to win the third and fourth set, but finally Bonzi took the victory with partial 6-3, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 0-6, 6-4.

This elimination marks the third consecutive defeat of Medvedev in the first round of a Grand Slam, after having also fallen in Wimbledon against the same rival.
