Santiago de Chile- The Minister of the Interior of Chile, Carolina Tohá, responded to the criticism of the Chavista, Diosdado Cabello regarding the investigation of the murder of the exhaustion and opponent of Venezuelan, Ronald Ojeda. In his statements, he highlighted the work of the Chilean authorities in the fight against organized crime and assured that the investigation continues its course with a close coordination between the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office.
Tohá emphasized that the information collected will be shared with the International Criminal Court (TPI), noting that “there is one thing that is already defined, which is to share the information of this investigation with the court.”
He also indicated that there are still six months before the trial and that in this period new measures could be taken as the investigations advance.
Does it bother you that there are 360 detainees from the Aragua train?
In response to Cabello, who has made criticism about the actions of the Chilean authorities, the minister questioned the reason behind her discomfort.
“It will bother you that in recent times there have been a number of operations, both with police and with the PDI, with respect to organized crime groups that have broken bands over and over again. I do not know what is the part that irritates it to the work of The Prosecutor’s Office “he declared.
The minister also highlighted in her statement the arrest of 306 members of the Aragua Train, one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the region. This result, according to Tohá, reflects the efforts of the Chilean State to combat crime and dismantle transnational criminal networks.
The research of the murder of Ojeda is still under development, with the promise that in the coming weeks news about the advances and future actions to be taken will be delivered.
