MADRID.- Chef José Andrés, president of the NGO World Kitchen and an institution in the United States, asked this Saturday through social networks that the country’s authorities help and allow the entry of Joan Capdevila so that he can attend the World Cup final that Spain and Argentina will play this Sunday.
Capdevila, world champion with the Spanish team in South Africa 2010, cannot travel to the United States as he was denied the ESTA, a document to be able to enter the country, so he has asked for help through social networks to be present at the event.
For this reason, José Andrés has directly appealed to Donald Trump, US President, Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, and FIFA to help the former Spanish soccer player.

While waiting for the outcome, Capdevila thanked him for the initiative and responded through the same channel with a message of gratitude, which he accompanied with a heart: “You don’t know how much I appreciate it…”.
According to what the footballer himself told on Cadena Cope on Friday, the reason for ESTA’s rejection of entering the United States is because he played a match in Iran ten years ago.
Spain and Argentina will play the final of the 2026 World Cup this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New York.
