Bayern director compares Musiala with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

MUNICH.- “I remember (Lionel) Messi at Barça or (Cristiano) Ronaldo at Real Madrid, decisive players,” said the club’s sports director. Bayern MunichMax Eberl, to highlight the game of Jamal Musiala, author of a double against Heidenheim (4-2) this Saturday.

After entering the field of play in the 51st minute, Jamal Musiala scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season (7 in the Bundesliga, three in the Cup, one in the Champions League), which allowed Bayern to take the lead against Heidenheim ( 2-1, 56) and secure the victory (4-2, 90+1).

“It was time for me to score again with my foot,” Musiala joked after the game, remembering the four headed goals he has scored in recent weeks.

“I had played a lot of matches, so it was good to have a little break,” added the 21-year-old German prodigy.

“I remember Messi at Barça or Ronaldo at Real Madrid, decisive players in matches. Jamal is capable, we know that. He also benefits from the fact that he is played a lot with and that there are very good footballers around him. And He is capable of scoring goals,” Eberl explained.

Likewise, the manager added that, although Musiala is not the only decisive player in the club, he has earned his position at the top.

“Fortunately, we still have Harry (Kane), someone who knows how to do it too, but he is currently injured. Jamal takes over. He has incredible quality. We all know how good a player he is,” he said.

Shared feeling

“Wasn’t Real Madrid dependent on Ronaldo, wasn’t Barça dependent on Messi?” asked Bavarians coach Vincent Kompany on Friday when asked about Musiala’s importance in the team.

“Those two players have won I don’t know how many Ballon d’Ors, Jamal hasn’t achieved it yet, but we will do everything so that he can achieve it,” Eberl said this Saturday.
