BARCELONA-. The German coach of FC Barcelona, Hansi Flickwas hopeful on Friday about the eventual registration of the winger Dani Olmo in time to play Saturday’s league match against Athletic Club.
The brand new Eurocup champion with Spainwho arrived at the Catalan club this summer from Leipzig, has not yet been registered in La Liga due to Barça’s financial problems.
But the club opened the door on Friday for its German midfielder Ilkay Gündogan to leave for Manchester City, which could allow Olmo to sign.
“(Finances) are not my job, we work with the team and I like what I see this week, Dani is ready to play and we are waiting for him, and hopefully tomorrow he will be in the team,” Flick told reporters on Friday.
“He can help us, this will be very good for us, he is an impressive player,” he added.
Olmo, 26, was one of the architects of Spain’s title at Euro 2024, where he was one of the top scorers with three goals.
