PARIS.- The Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner recovered the No. 1 in the world rankings, thanks to his title in the Paris Masters 1000 conquered on Sunday and maintains a tight fight with the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz for ending the year on the throne of ATP.
Sinner now surpasses Alcaraz by 250 points, who was surprisingly eliminated in the first round in the Paris tournament.
This last major tournament of the year also served to grant three tickets to the ATP Finals that will take place starting Sunday in Turin.
The Americans Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton and the Australian Alex de Minaur will compete in the tournament that will bring together the best eight rackets of the year, for which Sinner, Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic.
The last ticket will be for the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassimewho played the final of the Paris Masters 1000, or for the Italian Lorenzo Musettiwho should win the Athens tournament taking place this week to play in Turin.
