Atlético denies having received an offer from Barcelona for Julián Álvarez

MADRID.- In humorous tweets posted on Friday, the Atlético de Madrid responded to the rumors circulating on social networks and denied having received an offer from FC Barcelona by his Argentine attacker Julian Alvarez.

The red and white club, which reported being the victim of “numerous misinformation”, used its official X account to announce false offers to sign several Barça figures.

“Here we go! We have sent a fax to FC Barcelona with our transfer offer: 4 tickets for the concert of Bad Bunny morning (in the stadium Metropolitan of Madrid), an annual subscription to the (daily) ABC and a bag of pipes. We eagerly await the response to prepare the announcement,” he wrote along with a photomontage with Lamine Yamal wearing the red and white elastic.

He then continued his series of trills with other photomontages with Pedri and Raphinhatwo other Barça players, dressed in the Atlético shirt and equally humorous offers “to complete the 3×1.”

Afterwards, Atlético became more serious to respond to the rumors about “Araña” Álvarez, recently called up by Argentina for him North America World Cup (June 11-July 19).

“In recent months we have been suffering a campaign of harassment and demolition of one of our players. Interested leaks, ‘fake news’, continuous lack of respect, the culé (Barcelona) version of the machinery inventing comics, calls before direct confrontations,” Atleti wrote in their message.

Allusion to the Negreira case

“But of course, it would not occur to us either to have the vice president of the referees on the salary or to resort to political favors to register players. Álvarez was signed in 2024, from Manchester City of the English league, for almost 90 million euros.

According to the Catalan press, his dream would be to join Barça to follow in the footsteps of his idol Lionel Messiwith which he became world champion in Qatar 2022 and with which he will seek a new trophy in the 2026 World Cup.
