MIAMI.- This Tuesday, December 3, the sister fairs opened Art Miami and CONTEXT Art Miamiat One Herald Plaza, through December 8. The influx of public demonstrates the interest in the visual arts, and there was no shortage of art lovers who dressed in daring outfits, making the cultural event even more interesting.
Entering through CONTEXT Art Miamiif we stand in front of the information table at the entrance and look straight ahead, we come across the world of concrete, wood and resins of the sculptor Gloria Lorenzowhich presents its pieces in conjunction with Imaginart Gallery at stand C14. Gallery owner Mercedes Palomo shows the 23 works on display, and remembers that it is one of the stands whose gallery focuses on the work of a single artist. We are welcomed by a party of geometry and color, with paintings that resist two-dimensionality, sculptures and tables.
As Gloria Lorenzo confessed, she has been working on those pieces without looking for a unity or thinking about exhibiting, simply concentrating on the creative process. However, when he stepped back to appreciate the material he felt a connection between the pieces. “Everything comes together, it is a magic of what you do and it expands, it is something very beautiful,” he said in this regard.
In Art Miamiwith Aldo Castillo Gallery, the painter Fredy Villamil presents imposing works (booth AM103). These are large-format pieces that impact the viewer, who will feel immersed in that world of dissimilar characters where time folds into stories that deserve years to detail and appreciate.
With good reason, a collector who some time ago acquired one of his paintings prepared a space in his home especially tailored to house Villamil’s work.
Regarding the size of the pieces he proposes on this occasion, Villamil explained that the reason “is the love and passion that grow, like the size of the canvas.”
For his part, the gallery owner Aldo Castillo He revealed to Diario Las Américas that the stand occupied by his gallery “is one of the largest spaces.” Castillo, also a curator and with a portfolio that includes more than 350 art exhibitions internationally, explained that at Art Miami he exhibits around 38 pieces.
In that same fair, to which it is worth dedicating a whole day to enjoy each stand, the works of the Galleria Barbara Paci, from Italy, stand out in the booth AM114. The wall dedicated to the pieces of Andrea Collesanodrawings on aged paper reminiscent of illustrations in biology books, with the additional charm of ocher frames.
This gallery was founded in 2003 in the historic center of Pietrasanta, a city in Tuscany known internationally for its bronze foundries and artistic marble workshops.
