Around two weeks after the plan presented by US President Donald Trump on the future of the Gaza Strip, the heads of state and government of the Gulf States and other Arab countries will meet on Friday for advice in Riad. The representatives of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatars, Kuwaits, Omans, Bahrains, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt are talking about an “Egyptian reconstruction plan” for the Palestinian area, as the AFP news agency from Saudi Arabian governmental circles learned.
Trump’s Gaza-Plan, which, among other things, provides to bring the area under US control and to move the Palestinians living there to Egypt and Jordan, had been rejected by the Arab countries. While the countries unanimously spoke out against the relocation of the Palestinians, the positions on other points could differ. The organization of the future government of the Gaza Strip or the financing of the reconstruction are controversial issues.
