Alonso reveals the reason why Aston Martin was not competitive in 2024

Fernando Alonso faces the 2025 F1 World Cup with Aston Martin looking to return to the top of the table after 2023 that aimed to be the beginning of a new reign.

The Asturian driver will share the box once again with Lance Stroll and they already know the date on which they will show us his new car.

However, the new car has a lot to improve for next season.

Aston Martin continues to look for the keys they must find to return to the top of the table and fight for great things against Red Bull, McLaren or Ferrari, who for the moment are above.

Alonso, who pointed out in a statement to ‘Planet F1’ the origin of the car’s problems in 2024: “I think a little comes from the wind tunnel and a little from our own knowledge of the factory.”

“It was a mix of things that we believe contributed to the lack of development,” Fernando confessed when analyzing some errors that need to be improved by 2025 so that Aston Martin can develop a competitive car.

The team apologized to Alonso for the performance of the car throughout this entire season. The two-time world champion has found himself with a constant burden that undermined his results and the level shown on the track. Even so, Fernando left signs of his magic in several races in which he managed to score points even having the worst car in terms of race pace.
