The French justice system archived the complaint filed by Kylian Mbappé against Paris Saint-Germain due to lack of sufficient evidence for an alleged case of moral harassment, according to local media reported this Friday.
The complaint was filed in 2025, in the middle of the judicial dispute between the forward and his former club over the payment of the last items of his contract. Although Mbappé’s lawyers later withdrew the lawsuit, the investigation continued until the investigating judges decided to file it last May.
According to French media, the decision was related to the fact that the complainant himself no longer supported the judicial action, making it impossible to continue the procedure.
The alleged moral harassment reported by Mbappé was related to his temporary exclusion from the PSG first team during the start of the 2023-2024 season. The club had removed the forward after he communicated his decision not to renew his contract.
The situation generated a conflict between both parties. PSG was looking for Mbappé to renew or leave the team in exchange for financial compensation before his contract expired and he could leave as a free agent.
After several weeks, Mbappé was reincorporated into the first team, then led by Luis Enrique. At the end of that season, the attacker left the Parisian team and signed for Real Madrid.
The dispute subsequently continued over the payment of salaries and bonuses that PSG had withheld. The club maintained that these amounts were part of a verbal agreement between Mbappé and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, while the footballer demanded his subscription.
In May 2025, Mbappé initiated legal action on several fronts. However, after a labor court ruled in his favor and ordered PSG to pay him 61 million euros, the forward withdrew the complaint for moral harassment. The club did not appeal that decision, so it remained firm.
With the filing of this case, the legal disputes between Mbappé and PSG are closed.
Mbappé arrived at the Parisian team in 2017 from Monaco for 180 million euros. During his time at the club he became their all-time top scorer and won seven Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups and one League Cup. In 2024 he left Paris as a free agent to join Real Madrid.
