MADRID.- The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebascriticized this Tuesday the attacks of the real Madrid to refereeing in the derby against Athletic, when remembering that “a referee error” does not imply a conspiracy, provoking the angry response of the white club.
In a message on X, Tebas wrote that “an arbitration error does not prove a conspiracy, nor does repeating it for years make it true.”
The president of LaLiga responded in this way to the attacks of the merengue team on the refereeing after the 2-1 defeat in the derby against the Atlético de Madrid on the seventh date of the championship on Sunday.
The Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho, considered that the key to the match was that the referee did not send off Christian Romero already Lee Kang-in by separate entries on Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde.
“To maintain that the referees are directed against Real Madrid is to live in another galaxy,” added the president of LaLiga, in a new episode of the disagreement between Tebas and Real Madrid for some time.

These criticisms provoked the white team’s response: “Our club considers it intolerable that the president of LaLiga uses his institutional position to continue disqualifying and attacking Real Madrid in the way he does.”
“His latest intervention is especially serious and incomprehensible, inappropriate for a responsible manager,” Real Madrid added in a statement.
Tebas “reacts against our club by also allowing itself to evaluate our sporting strategy, something that is totally absurd and irresponsible,” stated the Madrid entity.
The head of LaLiga, who published his message in response to an article by the conservative digital media El Debate, very critical of the organizer of the Spanish league championship and against the referees, also criticized the attitude of the Madrid club.
“We are in September and they already consider LaLiga to be adulterated. No one with common sense can believe the usual alibi anymore,” he said.
“Real Madrid is very important for LaLiga. But stating that ‘LaLiga is worthless’ without it portrays contempt towards other clubs, their fans and their history. The competition is not anyone’s property,” he concluded.
Real Madrid considered that Tebas “continues to damage the image of our competition and Spanish football in the world”, before demanding a change at the head of the Spanish championship.
“In light of this inappropriate and sustained behavior over time, we understand that the professional football competition in Spain “it urgently needs a leader capable of managing it and developing its full potential with the elemental duty of neutrality,” the merengue team concluded.
