SANTIAGO.- The president of Argentina, Xavier Mileiurged this Thursday the right in Latin America to coordinate to confront the left. During a meeting of the Madrid Forum in Santiago de Chile, the leader pointed out the left of “colonizing” different sectors.
“Badly organized is defeated with well organized, there is no other way,” Milei pointed out.
At the same time, he recalled that “the left at the regional level has been organized for decades.” He argued that this political sector has managed to “colonize” institutions, universities and the media, from where it promotes its ideas and works to recover spaces of power.
Milei was grateful to visit Chile in the midst of the government of right-wing President José Antonio Kast, who took power last March.
“It is a pleasure for me to be able to be in Chile again, especially after the victory and recent inauguration of my friend José Antonio Kast,” he said.
In this context, he maintained that Chile is one of the examples of the advancement of conservative ideas in the region. “Chile has once again opted for the ideas of freedom. It has awakened, just as Latin America is awakening,” said the Argentine president. He also referred to the victory of the conservatives Keiko Fujimori in Peru and Abelardo De la Espriella in Colombia.
The president also indicated that, in Chile, the left convinced society that “everything was wrong.” He pointed out that that is why they targeted the media and universities to “undermine and vilify” the “ideas of freedom.”
He also noted: “They used their nefarious ideas to impoverish us in Argentina (…) But we love our country and we understand that the only way to defend our sovereignty is to have a rich and thriving country.”
Likewise, Javier Milei said that “if 3 years ago Argentina was a warning of the abyss to which socialism leads, Today it is becoming proof that, when the course of economic prudence is sustained with firm convictions, freedom proliferates, the economy grows and insecurity falls. And this is what is giving strength to the rest of the continent to dare to take the same leap.”
At the forum, organized by the Spanish party Vox, he also referred to President Pedro Sánchez. “Look what Pedrito is doing in Spain, right? They are finding him…, he is dirtier than a potato, and he was offended when he and all the people around him, when I told him that it was a government of thieves, and it seems that the facts confirm it,” he indicated.
Trump celebrates right turn
The President of the United States, Donald trumpsaid on Wednesday that, thanks to his influence, there have been several changes of government in Latin American countries that were governed by the left and have now aligned with Washington.
“Our continent is really turning out very differently than it was. They have gone from the left to the right. Everyone is going to the right,” he told reporters in the Oval Office of the White House.
He argued that, two years ago, many of the countries in the region did not have any respect for the United States. He assured that now they do have it and that Washington is “doing very well in South America, in Latin America.”
