The Spanish team is already in New Jersey to begin preparation for the grand final of the 2026 World Cup, in which it will face Argentina this Sunday in search of its first world title.
The team led by Luis de la Fuente landed on Wednesday night at Newark airport, from Dallas, where they sealed their qualification after beating France 2-0 in the semifinals. The expedition learned before boarding the flight that their rival would be the Albiceleste, after Argentina’s dramatic 2-1 comeback against England.
Spain later arrived at its concentration hotel in Montclair, where it was received by around thirty fans waiting behind the security perimeter. The most applauded were Lamine Yamal and Pedri, two of the great figures of the Spanish team during the tournament.
One of the details that caught attention was the official team bus, which debuted a special decoration for the final, with the silhouette of the World Cup and the inscription “The Final” on its sides.
The first training session prior to the decisive match is scheduled for this Thursday at the Melanie Lane Training Grounds facilities, where the coaching staff hopes to have all their players available.
The main unknown is Pedro Porro, who finished the duel against France with a muscular overload. However, it is expected that the full-back can train normally and be available for the clash against Argentina.
With the hope intact and an atmosphere of trust, Spain begins the countdown towards a historic final in which it will seek to dethrone the current world champion.
