The young forward of FC Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, was recognized this Friday as the 2025-26 LaLiga Player of the Season, an award that confirms his consolidation as one of the biggest stars in world football.
Despite missing a good part of the first half of the campaign due to physical problems in the groin area, the Barça attacker had an outstanding season, being decisive in the team led by Hansi Flick winning the championship.
Yamal registered 16 goals and 12 assists in the 28 league games he played, figures that reflect his enormous influence on Barcelona’s offensive game. His ability to unbalance one-on-one, create chances and appear in key moments made him a fundamental piece during the course.
The winger succeeds his teammate, Raphinha, who had received the recognition in 2025.
The distinction comes at a special moment for the Spanish international, who continues to break precocity records and establish himself as one of the leaders of the Barça project. At just 18 years old, Yamal is already considered one of the most decisive footballers in Europe and one of the big names to follow in the next FIFA World Cup 2026.
The individual award puts the finishing touch to a historic season for the culé youth player, who has shown that he is prepared to lead Barcelona both in Spain and on the international stage.
