The young Brazilian forward Endrick confirmed this Tuesday his return to Real Madrid after completing his loan at Olympique Lyonnais, where he managed to relaunch his career and become one of the figures of the French team in the second half of the season.
Through an emotional video published on his X account under the title “Merci OL”, the 19-year-old attacker said goodbye to the Lyon fans and made it clear that he returns to Spain with more experience and confidence.
“Unfortunately, even if it is stronger, a lion cannot stay in the same place. Now I must say goodbye and embark on a return trip that will be much longer, because I return with much more luggage,” Endrick said in the message subtitled in French.
The Brazilian arrived at the French club during the last European winter market on loan, after having few minutes in the merengue team. His impact in Ligue 1 was immediate: he scored five goals and provided seven assists, being decisive in Lyon’s recovery.
Among his most notable performances are a hat trick against Metz and a goal in the prestigious victory against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on April 19.
Thanks to that performance, Lyon finished fourth in Ligue 1 and will compete in the play-off for access to the next UEFA Champions League.
Endrick’s great moment also allowed him to earn the trust of Carlo Ancelotti, who called him up with Brazil for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It will be the striker’s second major international tournament with the Canarinha after participating in the 2024 Copa América.
