Djokovic withdraws from the Miami Masters 1000 due to shoulder injury

MIAMI.- Novak Djokovic will not participate in the Miami Masters 1000which starts next week, due to an injury to his right shoulder, reported this Sunday the ATP citing tournament information.

The Serbian giant, 38 years old, competed in the last two weeks in the Indian Wells Masters 1000where he was eliminated on Wednesday in the round of 16 by the defending champion, the English Jack Draper.

Djokovic, who in recent years has been dosing his appearances on the circuit, also played the Indian Wells doubles category with the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipasfalling into the second phase.

The Balkan, who at the beginning of the year was runner-up in the Australian Openhas won the Miami tournament six times, equaling the American Andrew Agassi with the contest record.

Last year he made his return to the Florida competition, which he had not played since 2019, and advanced to the final, losing to the young Czech Jakub Mensik.

Sabalenka wins her first title at Indian Wells
