The Treasure of Villanueva de la Serena is made up of 149 gold coins discovered in 1987 under the old Rialto Cinema in the Villanueva municipality. They are minted between 1772 and 1822 in mints such as Madrid, México, Lima, Potosí, Popayán, Santiago, Seville or the New Kingdom and are made up of pieces such as doubloons of 8 and 320 reales.
The origin of the complex, made up of pieces from the reigns of Charles III, Charles IV and Ferdinand VII, is linked to the concealment probably carried out in the 1920s in a stately home located where the House of Culture was later built.
